How to get the most out of your 3D Ultrasound session

How to get the most out of your 3D Ultrasound session

Hi Everyone!
I have a few tips for having the best experience here at Wonder Time LLC.

First is WATER, drink as much as you can, as much as they’ve been telling you to drink. If you don’t like water, try flavored water. Make your own fruit flavored water. Water is key to you being hydrated, and there being a good amount of amniotic fluid. A good pocket of fluid in front of the baby’s face makes all the difference in getting awesome 3d and 4d ultrasound pictures.  Bring a cold beverage to your appointment, one with ice works best. Some people swear by chewing some ice to get the baby to move.

Don’t come to your appointment hungry. Try to eat a light meal or snack before you arrive.  Eat a piece of fruit, if you feel like something sweet, bananas, grapes, cherries and figs are best.

Bring your loved ones!  We have room for 7 to sit comfortably, and more room to stand, if need be. Bring kids if you want, just remember to bring a favorite toy to keep them happy.  In my experience, anyone from toddler to age 9, gets tired of the ultrasound after a few minutes. You, however, will be glued to the screen, feeling even more love for the little nose, lips, chubby cheeks, and recognizable features of your precious little baby.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions before, during, or after your visit.  Have a good night, and stay safe out there!

Gender Reveal Idea of the Day

Here’s another fun idea for a gender reveal, especially now that Spring is right around the corner (OK maybe that’s just wishful thinking…but it’s soooo cold here lately).  The premise is to have an egg hunt with ONE golden egg, and all the other eggs just regular colored plastic eggs.  To incite people to find all of the eggs…not just the golden one…put small prizes or slips of paper with clues about the golden eggs whereabouts.  The neat thing here is to have the golden egg be a real egg (that has been hollowed out and cleaned) with a strip of paper inside announcing either Boy or Girl.  Let adults or just the kids run rampant, on the most exciting egg hunt since the one where Grandpa put folding money in the eggs!   To simplify this, you could just have the golden egg in it’s gift box and let the chosen one open it ( Grandma, Mama, Daddy, Big Brother or BigSister).   At Wonder Time LLC, we can provide you with the golden egg, slip of paper already inside.  That way you keep it a surprise for everyone (except for me, your sonographer…but my lips are sealed!)

Fun idea for a gender reveal

We’ve all seen the “balloons in the box”, “cutting the cake (colored icing inside)” and of course, the “shooting something filled with colored paint or powder”.  All of these ideas are awesome. I’m going to get creative with some lesser known ideas, to get you thinking about a unique way to share the happy news.

At the party, give every guest their own cup or glass, give them each a bath bomb which contains either pink or blue pacifiers. No shaking or poking the bath bombs! That’s cheating folks. Keep your eye on Grandma…she’ll be the one.  The first person to see the pacifier emerge from the bath bomb fizz, gets to yell ” It’s a _______!!!!!!”  Don’t want to include 50 people on the fun? Just do bath bombs for you and your partner, or just for the kids in the family.  Or just let Grandma do it…(free babysitting insurance/ bribery) 😉

The trick to this is you have to have a trusted friend put together the bath bombs. Or, you can buy your kit ready made at Wonder Time LLC!  I would be happy to help, and I can definitely keep this secret safe!

Stay tuned for more gender reveal ideas!

Questions about early gender determination

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all safe & warm today! It’s a snow day for all of us here.

One of our clients recently asked how can we determine gender @ 13 weeks.  Well, a couple of factors need to be in place… You need to have a machine with really good resolution. Check.  You need to have experience in scanning babies at that time of pregnancy, (which is the time where you have the Nuchal Translucency scan). Check. And you need to know the method of determining relative angles. Check.  Most importantly, you need to get the exact middle view of the baby. Check.

I personally have used this method to determine gender, without fail, for over 150 babies (my determination was confirmed at 20 weeks).  As long as the baby cooperates (very rare that they don’t for this view) I can tell you what the sex of the baby is, anytime after the 13 week mark.  If you or someone you know “just can’t wait” give us a call or make an appointment online.

3D Ultrasound Levels Up

Have you seen the difference between standard 3D ultrasound and HD ultrasound?

If you have ever seen a 3D fetal sonogram, you are familiar with the prospect of seeing your baby’s features before birth. New technology has emerged, known as HD ultrasound.  HD ultrasound takes the 3D image and transforms it.  Translucency of the skin, play of light and shadow, all of these factors come together to produce an incredibly realistic picture.  The difference between 3D and HD is immediately obvious, with the HD image conveying much more pleasing imagery.  Check out our gallery for more examples of HD ultrasound.
